By June I was down to just over 56kg (probably a bit too skinny – got addicted to exercise!) but went on holiday and seemed to lose motivation for eating well and exercising so I have gained 3kg and my thighs look exactly the same as they did before I had the cavitation done. They do say you have to watch what you eat, but in saying that, the information you read on the internet says that once the cells are destroyed, they’re gone forever. Who do you believe? I have also found too that I seem to hold a lot of water in my thighs. I can measure in the morning and be 3cm bigger by the evening.
I also think that it depends on your body too. Every person’s makeup is different, so not everyone is going to experience the same results, so if you’re really keen on doing it, do your research, find a place that specialises in this treatment and has proof to show you that it works. Don’t waste your money unless they guarantee their results and make sure you take your own measurements before and after to compare with theirs.
Well, according to my measurements of one particular area on my thighs, no, but according to the salon’s measurements and photos, yes. See for yourself. I must admit I’m still skeptical. To me, I still look the same in my mirror and my tape measure is telling me the same story it did 3 weeks ago.
Was it worth $1000 odd? Depends on how much money you have I suppose! For me no. I would have been happy to pay half that though. It was recommended that I have ‘maintenance’ treatments every month or so, but at around $200 a pop, it’s just unrealistic.
Well, had another treatment on Wednesday, today is Friday and still nothing has changed. I’ve been good with my diet and have been drinking LOTS of water to help my liver. I have lost a bit of weight which is a bonus, but I don’t really need to. I have read that some people don’t see results for a few weeks so I’m clinging to that. Bit disappointed as I’ve read so many stories where people have noticed results straight after the first treatment.
Today I had my first treatment. After signing some forms to say I’m not hiding any illness that might make me die in their care I was taken to a room and asked to take my jeans off so some measurements and photos could be taken. The top of my thighs are 57 cm and have been since June last year. I have before pics I took this morning.
I did notice that the machine is not an ‘Ultrashape’ branded machine, it looks quite generic. Anyway, after the photos were done, up I hopped onto the table and laid back to have some cold, gooey gel put on my first thigh. The machine quickly warmed it up and was painless. I could hear a high pitched noise and could feel little ‘pricks’ sort of like static electricity. After about 15 minutes it was time for the other leg and another 15 minutes it was all over. I was told to go for a half hour walk and make sure I drink plenty of water and to not eat any bad foods as it would undo everything she just did.
I rushed home (and drunk over half a litre of water on the way) to the measuring tape to see if a miracle had happened. Nope. Bugger. I went for my walk (the dog needed one anyway) and came home and ate a plate of veggies and a small handful of pasta. Measured again before my shower. Nope. *sigh*.
It does state on their website: “Up to 16cm loss from one treatment! Too good to be true? That’s why we guarantee our results. We Offer An Incredible Money Back Guarantee If You Do Not Get any Results From Your First Treatment!!!!”
Might have to bring that up at my next session which is on Wednesday. They are throwing in some other infra red treatment which will supposedly stimulate the lymphatic system and enable the body to release the toxins. Hopefully I’ll have some good results after that.
Well, after many hours of research on Ultrashape (ultrasonic cavititation – destruction of fat cells with ultrasound) and not coming up with much in the way of reviews, I thought I’d share my experience in depth and with pictures so that anyone else in a similar position as me can see for themselves whether or not it’s worth the time and money.
I suppose I’d better give you all the background story. After having 2 kids and carrying around an extra 10 – 12 kg for 6 years or so and being totally disgusted with myself, I finally realised that no one else can make the fat go away but me. So I embarked on a fitness journey in January 2010 which leaves me at 58kg, almost flat stomach and I can now see my hip bones. Unfortunately my boobs seem to have all but disappeared too, but hey, I can live with that. I hate bras anyway. The one area that the fat refuses to budge from is my inner thighs. I have lost major centimetres from everywhere but there and they still rub together. Besides looking a bit disproportionate with the rest of me, it pisses me off!
So that brings me to today. Today I went for a consultation at a salon to see if I’d be a suitable candidate for the Ultrashape treatment. I will divulge the where and how much after the treatment is complete.
I filled in some basic information on a form and then a consultant took me into a room with quite a few fancy machines that do all sorts of wonderful things to your body (supposedly). Surprisingly, she didn’t actually look at the area I wanted done, but I did end up grabbing a handful of fat from out of my shorts and showed her at one stage, just to make sure she knew where I was coming from. She seemed to think a package of 6 – 10 treatments, twice a week would be needed, with results showing after the first treatment. Apparently it takes anywhere from 30 – 60 mins per treatment, is virtually painless and there is no downtime. I was surprised also that she thought I needed that many treatments, considering I don’t have a huge amount of fat to get rid of, but I’m going to take it as we’re going to blast those bastard fat cells to kingdom come and be left with the bare minimum.
I have tried my darndest to get nice legs the hard way and achieved nothing so I signed up for the 6 treatment package starting next Monday . This will be interesting as from the limited information I did find, it was mainly recommended to have treatments at least a week apart. Anyway, this place guarantees results or your money back, so I have nothing to lose really. I sorta wish I could have started today!
